I’m not at a loss for topics. After the London massacre, every post I had in mind seemed irrelevant. The world disgusts me. There are no fucking justifications for what happened in London. Maybe it struck me more because it’s on my shortlist of places I’d like to live and work in, maybe because it’s right next door.
I have made a list of steps that need to be taken to resolve the conflict, and a brief collection of some opinions I have pertaining to the general global situation.
A step-by-step guide to terror resolution:
1. Muslims should make themselves heard. Know this. The English may be blaming their government, the US, Blair, Bush, etc… but deep down inside, they’re saying “those fucking muslims”. Not Islamists, not jihadists, not terrorists. Muslims. Yup, that’s right, people generalize. Muslims have to take an active role in this war. Half-hearted condemnation is not enough. Turn over murderers in their midst, stop supporting alQaeda and the rest. Issue fatwas in condemnation, and barring their followers from supporting the terrorists. That is the only way for me, or anyone, I guess, to take their opposition to these acts seriously.
2. Stop rationalizing these vile acts. Sure, Christians waged holy wars, and Islam is a younger religion. That’s no excuse. Stop drawing parallels. Two different situations. This is the 21st century, not the middle ages. No, you can’t expect this, and NO you can’t understand this as a natural phase in the development of religion. I don’t reinvent the computer every time I write a program. People evolve, learn from the past, and use these lessons. Oh, and also, screw Christianity.
3. Stop comparing this to local terror groups’ attacks. These aren’t like the IRA or ETA. They’re not like Hizballah. These people have a global domination plan. No, this isn’t some wacky 70s action flick. They want the entire world. They don’t care if you support any of their ‘issues’, either you fight for them, or you’re fair game. Much as I dislike this, I have to quote Bush: “You’re either with us, or you’re against us.” Apathy is not a viable option. They don’t care if you aren’t a Christian, or if you respect Islam, or if you’re a Buddhist. You are fair game. Face up to that. Make a stand. Waiting for every country to bleed before its’ citizens realize this threat is not an option. If you’re not with us, move out of the fucking way.
4. Bush. Take it back. Iraq didn’t have Al-Qaeda connections. They weren’t harboring terrorists. They didn’t have WMDs. A lot of the support for the war on terror fizzled out after this huge mistake. True, Saddam is a son of a bitch. True he tortured and murdered tens of thousands. Taking him down was a good thing, but you went about it the wrong way. What you left in your wake is an angry, poor, undereducated Shiite-dominated nation, right next door to Iran. Ripe for the Imams to instill their ignorant ideology on. Was it worth it? Toppling the dictator? Not everyone can/should govern themselves, there are a lot of elements that need to be in place before self-governance, or democracy becomes a viable option. I will tackle that later. True, you DREW the terrorists to Iraq, and I hope that they are all buried there. Every last one of them. Tortured. They deserve it. The Iraqis don’t.
5. Democracy shouldn’t be air-dropped. You can’t - and I’ll get shot down for this - offer poor, uneducated people the right to govern themselves. You’re opening the stage up for every wealthy bastard to buy his way in. These people can’t understand the global repercussions that their vote has. They will vote for the guy that ensures that their family will remain fed for the next month.
6. Iraq is a lost cause at the moment. A suicide bomber is brainwashed. He believes things that a toddler would scoff at. Let these people know that there are books to be read. Movies to be seen. Cultures to be experienced. Countries to be visited. Show them that THIS life is special, they wouldn’t readily give it up for lame promises made to them by crazy old men, speaking on behalf of Allah.
Only education removed the chokehold that the church had on everyday life. Let’s take the initiative.
I believe that Iran is the better place to start this in. There’s a generation of young people that have tasted civilization. They know that there’s fun to be had in this life. That’s all it takes. They hate the imams, they want freedom. Help them. Support them. Let THEM overturn the government. They look up to the rest of the world. They want to experience life.
Hell. Go for the radical solution. Corrupt them. A corrupt society couldn’t care less for fundamentalism. Shower them with money. Export bitches. Give them weed. Evict God/Allah.
Finally. I needed to get that off of my chest. It’s not coherent, I know, but then again, I’m not shooting for a nobel peace prize. I feel a bit better. I don’t want to worry every time I get on a bus. Fuck. If this is how it’s going to be, one side should eliminate the other. Wipe them out. I don’t give a fuck who. I’ll support the other. The world is being flushed down the toilet, one bomb at a time. Something must be done.
I need a drink.

Huh, Export Bitches
good one. I doubt anyone needs to export this commodity, I’m sure it’s readily available on every corner of the world. Hahaha.

People will always rise against each other, in the name of God, the Nation or Freedom. There is no way out of this shit hole. The organism that is humanity has grown extremely complex and ever so vulnerable. And it’s only a matter of time before we flush ourselves, or nature itself flushes us all down the cosmic toilet. If you think there’s a way out, a drink isn’t gonna be enough my friend. All you can do is get on that bus and make sure that, when that bastard blows himself up, you will have a big smile on your face and one middle finger sticking up this fucked up life’s ass.
Hmm.. That was quite uncharacteristic. Thanks for helping me let out some steam.

Tempest your points are great and I agree with most. However you should stop and realize that followers always have and always will use their religions politically, justified or unjustified, and that in truth religion in its purest form isn’t advocating the desecration or imperialization of nations. So maybe we shouldn’t screw christianity or other religions. We should screw their leaders for deviating beyond its message and using it for political gains.

Although you made very valid points, rationalizing something that has grown as big as terrorism needs a lot of thought put into it.
