Experimenting

The time thing I had on the past couple of days: I quit smoking, as an experiment. Stopped for four days. I concluded my experiment after that. I guess it’s easier to label it as an experiment that’s over, than as an attempt to quit that failed.

Second, and more interesting experiment is something I’ve been carrying on for a while - an analysis of my fellow Hamburgers. People generally walk very quickly over here. So I’m constantly being overtaken by kids, professionals, 80 year-old women, etc…

Now, the experiment. I’ve taken to growling when people overtake me. This rumbling sound leaves my throat, definitely noticable, but not loud enough for it to seem ’silly’. Personally, I would take note of someone growling at me like a rabid dog, or a Lion about to pounce. Back home, that would at least merit a look, typically, they would turn and stare, and at worst, I’d get kicked in the nuts. Sqwae, in the nuts. Not so here. They don’t react. Either I’m not scary, or they’re used to freaks roaming the streets….

Please, if you hear someone growling, turn and look. Give them that tiny pleasure of knowing that you heard them. Acknowledge their miserable existence.
